Snow v. Health and Palliative Services of the Treasure Coast, Inc.
Filed: May 26, 2017 ◆§ 2:17-cv-14186-RLR
A former employee has filed suit against Health and Palliative Services of the Treasure Coast, Inc., claiming it failed to pay her proper overtime wages.
Florida
A former employee has filed suit against Health and Palliative Services of the Treasure Coast, Inc. (which does business as Treasure Coast Hospice), claiming the health center failed to pay her proper overtime wages in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The plaintiff, who was employed as a nurse, says she sometimes worked more than 40 hours a week, but was paid only $2 more than her regular hourly rate for the hours she worked above 40. According to the complaint, the FLSA requires employers to compensate employees’ overtime hours at one-and-a-half times their regular rate of pay, which the defendant failed to do. The suit seeks to recover allegedly unpaid overtime wages and to enjoin the defendant from committing further violations of the FLSA.
