A former parking lot attendant has filed a class action lawsuit against Community Parking and its owner seeking unpaid overtime and minimum wages under the FLSA.
A former parking lot attendant has filed a class action lawsuit against Community Parking and its owner seeking unpaid overtime and minimum wages under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). According to the complaint, the plaintiff, who says he was always paid in cash, regularly worked between 48 and 56 hours per week without receiving overtime pay. The plaintiff, the suit continues, was also not given any meal or break periods during workdays and was not reimbursed for spending his own money on “tools of the trade”, such as work shirts and pants.
The proposed class covers anyone employed as parking attendants by Community Parking Corp. within the last three years who may not have been paid proper overtime and minimum wages.
