Filed: April 5, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv21361
A proposed class action has been filed against Ultimate Sports Camp, LLC and Junior Athletes, Inc. alleging the defendants violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by sending automated text message advertisements without the recipients' consent.
Florida
A proposed class action has been filed against Ultimate Sports Camp, LLC and Junior Athletes, Inc. alleging violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). According to the lawsuit, the defendants, which own and operate sports camps located in New Jersey, sent at least 10 automated text messages to the plaintiff’s cell phone without his written consent. Further, the case argues, the texts provided no way for the man to opt-out of receiving future messages. The plaintiff claims the texts invaded his privacy and caused “aggravation, annoyance, and intrusion.”
