A proposed class action filed against Magnetic Contracting Corp., City Metro Corp., and the companies’ owner seeks to recover allegedly unpaid overtime wages owed to a proposed class of carpenters, laborers, helpers, and other non-exempt current and former employees. The plaintiff, who worked as a laborer for the defendants from March through November 2016, claims he worked around 48 hours per week without being paid at the time-and-a-half hourly overtime rate for all hours worked over 40. Additionally, the plaintiff alleges that throughout his employment his work time was never properly recorded.
