Luciano Shipping, Inc. and its owner are on the receiving end of a proposed class action filed over allegedly unpaid minimum, overtime, and spread-of-hours wages, as well as unpaid “uniform maintenance pay” the plaintiff says is owed as reimbursement for out-of-pocket work uniform costs.
The plaintiff, who was employed by the defendants as a loader from August 2015 until December 2016, claims he worked between 60 and 70 hours per week without being paid time-and-a-half overtime wages or spread-of-hours pay. Additionally, the plaintiff says the defendants should be on the hook for the cost of laundering his work uniform, a t-shirt that displays the company’s logo.
