AF Masonry, Inc. is the defendant in a proposed class and collective action lawsuit that alleges it failed to pay its employees proper wages. The plaintiff in the suit is a former employee of the company who claims he worked 50 to 60 hours per week and was paid $15.00 per hour. He says he was compensated at his regular rate in cash for his overtime hours instead of the time-and-a-half overtime rate mandated by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). He further argues that he was not paid at all for several work days during his last month of employment with AF Masonry.
