Sunnyside, New York restaurant La Bella Pizzeria and its owner are facing a proposed class action that claims workers were not paid proper minimum, overtime and spread-of-hours wages. The plaintiff, who worked as a cook for the defendants until November 2016, alleges he worked roughly 72 hours per week, and often for more than 10 hours per day, without being paid overtime for all hours worked over 40. The man further claims he and proposed class members are owed spread-of-hours pay for shifts that lasted longer than 10 hours in a day.
