Filed: February 1, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-20415-KMW
Florida gentleman's club King of Diamonds Miami 'LLC' (which more commonly goes by Club KOD) and the companie's two owners are on the receiving end of a class action.
Florida gentleman’s club King of Diamonds Miami “LLC” (which more commonly goes by Club KOD), Movement Events, LLC, and the companies’ two owners are on the receiving end of a proposed class action filed over allegedly unpaid overtime wages. The four named plaintiffs, who were employed by the defendants as construction workers for various lengths of time, claim they were not paid proper minimum or time-and-a-half overtime wages for the roughly 54 hours per week they worked.
In addition to unpaid wage claims, the lawsuit alleges the defendants breached an oral contract they had with the plaintiffs concerning wages owed for their last week of employment. According to the complaint, the defendants orally contracted with the plaintiffs and verbally agreed to pay them at their regular hourly rate for an average of 27.5 hours for the last week of their respective employment periods. The defendants allegedly refused to pay the plaintiffs and, instead, fired each individual on January 14, 2017.
