Filed: April 7, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-21331-RNS
Joe's Blue Market Corp. and its owner/operator are on the receiving end of a proposed class action alleging certain workers were not paid proper wages.
Miami, Florida-based Joe’s Blue Market Corp. and its owner/operator are on the receiving end of a proposed class action alleging certain workers were not paid proper minimum and overtime wages. The defendant, which operates a market and kitchen in two locations in Miami, allegedly hired the plaintiff as a stocker and cashier in December 2016. The man claims he worked an average of 72 hours per week and was paid only a flat rate for all hours worked even though he was owed time-and-a-half overtime pay for all hours worked over 40 per week. The complaint estimates the plaintiff is owed nearly $2,500 in unpaid wages.
