An individual formerly employed by Joe Japanese Buffet Restaurant Inc. (which operates as Fuji Japanese Cuisine) has sued the restaurant over allegedly unpaid wages.
An individual formerly employed as a dishwasher and cook by Joe Japanese Buffet Restaurant Inc. (which operates as Fuji Japanese Cuisine in Forest Hills, New York) has filed a proposed class action against the company and its owner over allegedly unpaid wages. The plaintiff claims he worked an average of 70 hours per week, sometimes surpassing 10 hours in a day, without being paid mandatory time-and-a-half overtime or minimum wages. Further, the complaint claims the plaintiff was never paid his rightful spread-of-hours premiums nor provided with adequate breaks during any workweek.
