Filed: May 30, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-03226
A former employee of OSN Deli & Grocery, Corp. has filed a lawsuit against the grocery store and an individual owner, claiming they failed to pay her proper wages.
A former employee of New York-based OSN Deli & Grocery, Corp. has filed a lawsuit against the grocery store and an individual owner, claiming they failed to pay her wages in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and state law. According to the complaint, the plaintiff worked for the defendants as a cashier and was also responsible for cleaning the store and restocking shelves. She alleges that she worked approximately 70 hours per week and was paid an hourly wage of $8.00 without receiving overtime compensation for the weekly hours she worked in excess of 40. The suit further claims that the plaintiff was illegally denied an extra hour’s pay for each shift she worked that lasted longer than 10 hours, and that the defendants failed to provide weekly wage statements as required under the FLSA. The plaintiff seeks unpaid wages and other damages, as well as injunctive relief to prevent future FLSA violations.
