Defendant HealthTECH Resources, Inc. is feeling the heat from recent claims that it violated state and federal labor laws by failing to pay proper overtime wages. According to a proposed class and collective action filed in Pennsylvania, the defendant, a company that provides technology and education services for the healthcare industry, failed to pay individuals working as IT consultants time-and-a-half overtime wages for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. The plaintiff, who worked for HealthTECH Resources from August through September 2014, claims she and similarly situated workers were often required to work more than 10 hours per day, seven days per week, without mandatory overtime pay.
