A class action lawsuit has been filed in Florida against Profi Facilities Maintenance, LLC alleging the company failed to pay proper overtime wages in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The plaintiff, a former hourly janitorial employee who filed the suit against both the company and its owners, says Profi only paid employees at their regular rate of pay for overtime hours worked, not the FLSA-standard time-and-a-half premium. According to the suit, as many as 100 current or former employees may be affected by the company’s allegedly illegal overtime pay practices.
