A class action lawsuit filed in Florida claims Lakeland Regional Health Systems failed to pay proper overtime wages under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The complaint says the plaintiff, who regularly worked more than 45 hours per week as a laborer, was not paid time-and-a-half wages for hours worked over 40. Additionally, the suit claims the plaintiff had pay deducted for lunch breaks even though she habitually worked through lunch.
