Two Florida food companies are the defendants in a chef's class action claiming the companies failed to pay proper overtime wages.

A proposed class action filed in Florida alleges Broche’s Catering Services, Inc., Charanga Catering LLC (otherwise known as USDA Processing Distributors) and one individual failed to pay employees proper overtime wages. The plaintiff, who worked as a chef and meat processor from August 2015 through June 2017, alleges he worked an average of 50 hours per week without being paid time-and-a-half overtime for all hours worked past 40 each week. The lawsuit cites alleged violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
