Buford v. Superior Energy Services LLC et al
Filed: May 12, 2017 ◆§ 4:17-cv-00323-SWW
Superior Energy Services, LLC, Complete Energy Services, Inc., and Texas CES, Inc. are facing claims that they unlawfully failed to pay employees overtime wages.
Superior Energy Services, LLC, Complete Energy Services, Inc., and Texas CES, Inc. (which does business as SPN Well Services or Mercer Well Services) are facing claims that they unlawfully failed to pay employees overtime wages and violated the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). A former employee of the companies has filed a proposed collective action against them, alleging that he and other field supervisors regularly worked more than 40 hours a week without receiving time-and-a-half overtime compensation.
The plaintiff further claims that he requested leave under the Family Medical Leave Act in order to care for his wife, who had been diagnosed with stage-four lung cancer. According to the complaint, he was denied leave, suspended from his job, and then terminated in retaliation for requesting FMLA leave.
The suit seeks to cover anyone employed by the defendants as field supervisors at any time between May 12, 2014 and the present.
