Griffin v. Core Fiber Solutions, Inc. et al
Filed: June 12, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-02148-MHC
Telecommunications outfit Core Fiber Solutions, Inc. and two high-ranking employees are facing proposed collective action stemming from allegedly unpaid overtime wages.
Telecommunications outfit Core Fiber Solutions, Inc. and its president and a human resources/account manager are facing proposed collective action stemming from allegations of unpaid minimum and overtime wages, as well as unpaid “gap time” wages. The plaintiff, representing a proposed class of fiber-optic cable workers, alleges he and more than 100 others—with the job titles of technician, lead technician, journeyman, lineman and driver—were not paid time-and-a-half hourly wages for all hours worked over 40 during various workweeks, which caused the individuals’ hourly pay to drop below the federal minimum of $7.25 per hour.
The complaint describes the defendants as having acted in bad faith while being “stubbornly litigious,” claiming the parties have begun to ignore phone calls and emails from proposed class members demanding payment of unpaid wages.
