FFE Transportation Services Failed to Reimburse Drivers for Cell Phone Use, Lawsuit Claims
Last Updated on June 26, 2018
Castillo v. FFE Transportation Services, Inc.
Filed: June 13, 2018 ◆§ 5:18-cv-01296-VAP-SHK
According to a lawsuit, FFE Transportation Services failed to reimburse truck drivers for business-related expenses, as well as provide appropriate meal and rest breaks.
The plaintiff behind a proposed class action case recently removed to California federal court alleges defendant FFE Transportation Services, Inc. unlawfully failed to reimburse truck drivers for business expenses, as well as provide appropriate meal and rest periods.
According to the complaint, the defendant provides temperature-controlled transport services. The lawsuit claims the company failed to reimburse the plaintiff and proposed class members for use of their cell phones so FFE’s dispatchers could communicate with the drivers while they were on the road. The plaintiff further alleges truck drivers were never relieved of their duties—nor provided “in lieu of” compensation—during shifts so they could take uninterrupted meal and rest breaks.
