A class action lawsuit has been filed in New York against Brooklyn-based Empire City Laboratories and its manager over allegations that employees were not paid the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)-required time-and-a-half hourly overtime rate. The lawsuit claims the plaintiff—who worked between 63 and 70 hours each week handling specimen packages and data entry—was paid a flat sum regardless of how many hours she worked.
