Dolgencorp, Inc., Dolgencorp of New York, Dolgencorp of Texas, and Dollar General Partners, which collectively operate more than 8,000 Dollar General Stores in 39 states, are the defendants in a proposed class action filed over alleged wage and hour violations. The lawsuit, filed in Alabama court, claims the plaintiff consistently worked more than 90 hours per week until her termination in September 2016 without being paid time-and-a-half hourly overtime wages. The plaintiff claims the defendants, in addition to failing to pay overtime, subjected her to harsh treatment at work, with one general manager allegedly commenting that “they could require [the plaintiff] to work as long as they wanted to.”
