A proposed class action has been filed against D&J Cleaning Services and its two owners by individuals employed by the commercial and residential cleaning company.
A proposed class action filed against D&J Cleaning Services NY, Inc. and its two owners claims individuals employed by the commercial and residential cleaning company were not paid proper minimum and overtime wages, as well as spread-of-hours pay. The plaintiff claims that despite being non-exempt from overtime pay, proposed class members were not paid time-and-a-half overtime wages for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. Similarly, the plaintiff claims the same individuals were also not paid spread-of-hours wages for shifts that lasted longer than 10 hours in a single day.
The plaintiff says she worked an average of 52.5 hours per week without proper wages.
