High-end architecture and design group D.H.E. Company, Inc. and its founder Douglas Cohen have been hit with a class action.
High-end architecture and design group D.H.E. Company, Inc. and its founder Douglas Cohen have been hit with a class action filed on behalf of current and former employees who claim they’re owed unpaid wages. Filed in New York, the lawsuit contends the defendants failed to pay the plaintiff, a former carpentry worker and helper, and class members for all hours worked, including time spent traveling from Queens or the Bronx to a Connecticut job site. The plaintiff says he worked at least 50 hours each week, making between $13 and $18 per hour, which calculates to below the time-and-a-half overtime rate required by law for those who work more than 40 hours in a week.
The proposed class covers anyone who worked as a helper or carpentry worker for the defendants within the last three years, as well as anyone else who was or is employed by D.H.E. company and was allegedly subjected to the aforementioned alleged FLSA violations.
