A proposed class action filed in Florida court claims the below defendants violated the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) by failing to pay proper minimum and overtime wages:
- Cuba Tobacco Cigar, Co., also known as
- Tabacalera Las Villas Cigar, Co.
- Tabacalera Bello USA, Co.
- La Casa Del Tobacco, Co.
- La Casa De La Trova, Co.
- La Zorrra Y E Cuervo Inc.
The lawsuit—which also names the above defendants’ owner—claims the plaintiff worked an average of 48 hours per week as a tobacconist for the defendants without being compensated at the time-and-a-half rate owed for all hours worked over 40 in a week.
