A proposed class action filed in Florida alleges The Church of the Good Shepherd, Inc., a non-profit, failed to pay proper minimum and overtime wages in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The plaintiff, who worked for the defendant from April 2015 until the end of March 2017, alleges she regularly worked in excess of 40 hours per week without being paid at the mandatory time-and-a-half overtime rate for all hours worked past 40. The unpaid wages allegedly stem from off-the-clock time the plaintiff was required to spend working prior to her shift’s scheduled start and end times.
