A former worker has filed a class action against Carlos Bastos Construction and its owner over unpaid overtime and minimum wages pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act.
A former worker has filed a class action against Carlos Bastos Construction and its owner over unpaid overtime and minimum wages pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The plaintiff, who worked for the defendants from 2009 through May 2015, claims he typically worked 48 hours per week from May through October, and 72 hours per week from October through April, on construction projects throughout the U.S. without receiving time-and-a-half overtime pay or appropriate meal and rest breaks. Further, the plaintiff claims he was not paid any wages at all for May 2015, his last month of employment with the defendants.
