A lawsuit has been filed in Mississippi against Spartan Technologies on behalf of cable technicians who worked for the tech consulting firm within the last three years. According to the complaint, the cable technicians were paid on a “piece rate” basis, meaning they were paid per job rather than for the total number of hours worked. The plaintiff claims that he and other similarly situated employees worked between 55 and 80 hours per week without overtime compensation – which the suit says is a violation of federal wage and hour law.
