Li v. Chang Lung Group Inc. et al
Filed: December 5, 2016 ◆§ 1:16-cv-06722
A proposed class action has been filed against the Chang Lung Group Inc. alleging the busing and tourist services company failed to pay employees proper overtime wages.
A proposed class action has been filed against the Chang Lung Group Inc. alleging the busing and tourist services company failed to pay employees federally outlined overtime wages. Filed in New York by a former driver/truck loader, the lawsuit claims the plaintiff—who instead of having regular hours worked assigned 10- to 15-hour driving routes—was not paid at the time-and-a-half hourly rate for all hours worked over 40 in a week. Additionally, the plaintiff says he was promised a fixed wage of $1,600 during work periods, but only received $2,600 throughout his entire time working for the defendant. Lastly, the lawsuit argues the plaintiff and proposed class members’ shifts often lasted longer than 10 hours for which they were not given state-mandated spread-of-hours pay.
According to the suit, the defendant intentionally engaged in these overtime wage practices.
