Blazing Needles, L.P., and two individual owners are on the receiving end of a proposed collective action that claims they failed to pay their employees proper overtime wages in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. The plaintiffs allege that they often worked more than 40 hours a week, but were not paid time-and-a-half overtime wages for the hours they worked above 40 each week. As a result, they argue that their employers’ compensation practices violate the FLSA and that they are entitled to unpaid wages and any additional damages.
