Rodriguez v. Hershey et al
Filed: May 3, 2017 ◆§ 0:17-cv-60867-BB
A former seafood preparer for Billy's Stone Crabs, Inc. has filed a lawsuit against the company and an individual owner, alleging that they failed to pay proper wages.
A former seafood preparer for Billy’s Stone Crabs, Inc. has filed a proposed collective action against the company and an individual owner, alleging that they failed to pay him proper overtime wages. The Florida man claims he worked for the defendants between 72 and 84 hours per week but did not receive time-and-a-half overtime pay for the hours he worked above 40 each week. According to the suit, the plaintiff’s employers illegally paid him the regular hourly wage for overtime hours, or did not compensate him at all.
The suit seeks relief for a proposed collective of individuals employed by the defendants during the past three years who have not received proper overtime and/or minimum wages for hours worked in excess of 40 each week.
