Alta Resources Corporation Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of two data breaches impacting Alta Resources Corporation.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were affected by either data breach.
October 2024 Data Breach
Alta Resources, which provides business process outsourcing services, discovered a data breach on August 29, 2024 that involved unauthorized access to personal information of individuals related to Church & Dwight Co., Inc., one of Alta's clients.
The information compromised in the data breach included names, addresses, and credit card numbers, expiration dates, and verification/security codes.
According to a letter sent to affected individuals, Alta provides services to support Church & Dwight's customers, including with product information and buying assistance.
December 2024 Data Breach
In late December, Alta Resources reported a data breach that may have compromised personal information of employees and applicants. The breach was identified when encrypted files were discovered on certain systems, and an investigation confirmed that unauthorized access to Alta servers occurred over a two-day period from November 17, 2023 to November 18, 2023.
The potentially impacted data includes names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, health insurance details, and medical information. Alta began notifying affected individuals around December 20, 2024 and has encouraged all those who receive the company's services to "remain vigilant."
If your information was exposed in an Alta Resources Corporation data breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Alta Resources Corporation to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
