Olaplex Settlement Site Now Live We have information on a new settlement to kick off this week’s issue, so keep reading if you use Olaplex hair care products. Then, two lawsuits that we’re featuring this week were filed after potentially dangerous products were recalled. The products in question include a popular brand of coolers and certain lubricant eye drops. From there, we have a recently filed case claiming that a popular grocery chain wrongfully inflates the weight of its on-sale food items. And, as always, we have a handful of other new settlements that you may be able to claim. Keep reading for the latest in class action news. - Ty Armstrong, Writer/Community Manager | A settlement has been reached in a case that claimed Olaplex products didn’t live up to their advertised “Made in the USA” claims because they contained foreign-made ingredients. If you bought Olaplex hair care products between February 7, 2019 and September 6, 2024, you may be covered by the deal. This page has more information on the affected products and how to file your claim. | Certain Igloo Coolers Recalled Over Finger Injuries Igloo is facing a proposed class action after more than a million Flip & Tow rolling coolers were recalled due to a possible safety risk. The recall was initiated because the product’s tow handle can pinch users’ fingertips against the cooler, posing an amputation or crushing hazard, with at least 12 injuries reported. Specifically, the attorneys have reason to believe Tenet may have used online tracking tools that secretly collected data about patients who interacted with its hospital websites and then transmitted this information to third parties. | ~ In Other News ~ Alcon Laboratories has been hit with a lawsuit after it recalled one lot of its Systane lubricant eye drops due to a dangerous fungal contamination. According to the suit, the plaintiff and other consumers would not have purchased the Systane eye drops had they known the product may contain a pathogen that poses a significant and severe health risk. Learn more about the recalled product and allegations here. | A proposed class action alleges Publix fraudulently inflates the weights of certain foods when an item is advertised at a reduced per-pound price, depriving consumers of the savings they were promised. Specifically, the case says that items like meat, cheese and deli products have their weight automatically adjusted upward at checkout so that the customer unknowingly ends up paying the original, non-sale price.
