Per the website, class members who are still actively subscribed to UFC Fight Pass and do not elect to receive the cash payout will automatically have a credit equal to two months of service—which has a retail value of $9.99 per month—applied to their current Fight Pass plan.
Active subscribers do not have to file a claim form to receive two months of free service, the site notes. These consumers only need to submit a claim if they wish to receive a cash payout instead, the website adds.
Class members who are no longer enrolled in a Fight Pass subscription must file a claim to receive either a cash payment of up to $9.99 or a credit for two months’ free service applied towards a new or reactivated subscription, the site says.
UFC Fight Pass settlement payments are subject to pro rata adjustment depending on the total number of valid claims that are submitted, the website relays.
As part of the deal, the companies have also agreed to comply with applicable automatic renewal laws with respect to the Fight Pass subscription checkout and cancellation processes, the site shares.
The settlement with Zuffa and NeuLion USA was preliminarily approved by the court on January 21, 2025. It is now up to the court to determine whether to grant final approval to the terms of the deal at a hearing set for June 10, 2025.
The website says that should the deal receive ultimate approval, eligible class members will receive their benefits approximately 60 days after the date of approval, or after any appeals are resolved.
According to the UFC Fight Pass class action lawsuit, the companies failed to make the requisite disclosures and provide adequate notice to consumers regarding the subscription plan’s renewal charges and cancellation terms. The class action suit contended that, in doing so, Zuffa and NeuLion USA violated the federal Electronic Funds Transfer Act and several state laws.
