A proposed class action has been filed against Gatestone & Co. International, Inc. by a woman who claims the debt collector failed to clearly inform her of the amount of debt she allegedly owed. According to the complaint, the plaintiff received a collection letter from the defendant that specified an “Amount Owing” but stated that the balance “may be periodically increased due to the addition of accrued interest or other charges.” The suit argues that the letter didn’t further explain the additional fees and unlawfully failed to provide enough information for the plaintiff to calculate the amount of her debt on any given day.
