A proposed class action has been filed against Associated Credit Services, Inc. by a New York woman who claims the debt collector failed to clearly convey the amount of her supposed debt. She says the defendant sent her a collection letter that specified the amount of her balance and indicated she owed $19.40 in “Fees” that were not authorized by the agreement with her creditor. Even further, the letter allegedly failed to communicate the source of the “Fees” and the date they were added, thereby depriving the plaintiff of her right to calculate her true balance on any given day.
