Martinez v. Whitelocke And Associates Llc
Filed: February 8, 2018 ◆§ 5:18cv297
A proposed class action has been filed against Whitelocke & Associates LLC over claims that the defendant failed to clearly identify itself in voice messages as a debt collector attempting to collect a debt.
California
A proposed class action has been filed against Whitelocke & Associates LLC over claims that the defendant failed to clearly identify itself in voice messages as a debt collector attempting to collect a debt. The plaintiff says he received a message from one of the defendant’s representatives informing him that “a complaint” against the plaintiff had been “forwarded to [the representative’s] office” and that he should call back immediately. The suit argues that the message neglected to mention the defendant’s business name or indicate that it was attempting to collect a debt. Further, the case claims, the message “falsely and deceptively” implied that a lawsuit had been filed against the plaintiff.
