Vantage Retirement Plans, LLC is facing a proposed class action lawsuit that claims the company violated federal law by publicly disclosing the email addresses of about 400 of its customers. According to the suit, the defendant, which specializes in self-directed IRAs, sent an email “regarding an annual valuation required for one of its IRA accounts” that included its customers’ private email addresses, thereby “violating their privacy rights and its own policies.”
“Each email recipient was able to see the email address of all the other recipients and know that they are one of Vantage’s customers,” the complaint reads.
