United Collection Service, Inc. has been hit with a proposed class action after the defendant supposedly neglected to specify the identity of a consumer’s creditor in a collection letter.
Florida
United Collection Service, Inc. has been hit with a proposed class action after the defendant supposedly neglected to specify the identity of a consumer’s creditor in a collection letter.
“Nowhere in the Collection Letter does it state who the current creditor of the debt is as Defendant is required to clearly and effectively disclose,” the suit reads, adding that the creditor “could be, if any, any one of the three entities listed on the letter.”
The letter allegedly states, “Re: AMERICAN AMBULANCE – FALCK,” which, according to the case, is not specific enough to comply with Fair Debt Collection Practices Act requirements regarding the identification of creditors.
