Filed: March 21, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-01595
A proposed class action has been filed against United Collection Bureau Inc., claiming the defendant has violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
A proposed class action has been filed against United Collection Bureau Inc., claiming the defendant has violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The two plaintiffs were allegedly sent debt collection notices from the defendant that indicated a “current account balance” – an amount they claimed could be interpreted in multiple ways. The notices supposedly contained no information about whether interest would accrue on the amount stated, whether the amount included interest, or whether the interest would be waived. According to the complaint, the plaintiffs remain unsure as to how much they owe and seek to claim the damages allegedly entitled to them by United Collection Bureau’s supposed failure to communicate clearly.
