Uber faces a proposed class action lawsuit over allegedly sending consumers unsolicited and unwanted text messages.
Florida
Uber Technologies, Inc. and Rasier, LLC face a proposed class action lawsuit over claims that the parties send consumers unsolicited and unwanted text messages. The lawsuit was filed by a consumer whose job application to Uber Eats was supposedly rejected. Months after his application was denied, the plaintiff allegedly began receiving text messages intended for active Uber drivers. The case argues that Uber provides applicant records to a third-party that sends unwanted text messages to people after they are rejected from employment, as well as consumers who have never applied to work at Uber. The plaintiff demands that Uber stop sending unwanted text messages and seeks compensation for damages such as aggravation and invasion of privacy.
