New Jersey
A proposed class action has been filed in New Jersey against First National Collection Bureau Inc. and LVNV Funding, LLC over alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The case contends that the companies sent a collection letter to the plaintiff that did not include an itemized breakdown of the debt with no mention of whether the debt included interest. Further, the lawsuit argues LVNV Funding has never held a license to make, buy, discount or endorse (or receive interest on) consumer loans in New Jersey.
