Filed: November 28, 2017 ◆§ 2:17cv6932
A proposed class action has been filed against Transworld Systems Inc. by a man who claims the defendant violated federal debt collection law by failing to specify the name of his creditor.
A proposed class action has been filed against Transworld Systems Inc. by a man who claims the defendant failed to specify the name of his creditor. The debt collector allegedly sent him a letter that stated the following:
“Please be advised that the above amount has been placed with our office for collection.”
According to the suit, the notice failed to mention the entity that referred the plaintiff’s account to Transworld Systems and therefore failed to clearly identify the creditor to whom the debt was owed, in alleged violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
