Gadomski v. Trans Union LLC
Filed: March 29, 2017 ◆§ 2:17-at-00339
Trans Union LLC, one of the top credit reporting agencies, is the defendant in another lawsuit that alleges violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
Trans Union LLC, one of the top credit reporting agencies, is the defendant in another lawsuit that alleges violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The plaintiff claims the defendant falsely continued to report that she owed on one of her debts after it was “discharged in bankruptcy.” She allegedly submitted a dispute to Trans Union regarding the misinformation in her credit report, but she claims the defendant made no alterations to her report during or after its purported investigation. Due to the defendant’s inaccurate reporting, the plaintiff and proposed class members “have been effectively denied the fresh start to which they are legally entitled under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code,” according to the suit.
The complaint cites several other lawsuits that have been filed against Trans Union for similar allegations, including a 2008 class action settlement that required it to amend its reporting process. Despite the court’s injunctive orders, the suit claims Trans Union “continues to employ inaccurate reporting procedures.”
The plaintiff is also involved in another class action against Equifax Information Services alleging similar systematic violations.
