Titan Transfer, Inc. is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit claiming violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The plaintiff in the case says he applied to work for the defendant as a truck driver and was denied after the company procured his background report. According to the suit, Titan Transfer was obligated under the FCRA to provide the plaintiff with a notice informing him that he was denied employment based on his background report and had the right to dispute any inaccurate information in the report. Along with these disclosures, the suit says the defendant was required to supply the contact information for the agency from which it obtained the plaintiff’s consumer report and notify him that the agency itself was not responsible for any hiring decision.
