Thirteen new cases have been filed in Pennsylvania federal court as part of a multidistrict litigation accusing numerous pharmaceutical companies of conspiring to fix the prices of generic drugs. The suits, filed on behalf of independent pharmacies, claim that certain generic versions of medicines were subject to “extreme and unprecedented price increases” in recent years that resulted in pharmacies and their customers being unable to afford the drugs. The complaints note that the defendants’ alleged illegal behavior has been the subject of a federal investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Attorneys General of 44 states. See the chart below for a list of the defendants in each suit, along with the names of the drugs and the conditions they are intended to treat.
