Ganus et al v. Hendrick Automotive Group
Filed: January 31, 2018 ◆§ 2:18cv162
A consumer claims The Hendrick Automotive Group placed unsolicited telemarketing calls in an attempt to reach more potential customers.
[Update: The lawsuit detailed on this page was dismissed without prejudice by United States District Judge R. David Proctor at the plaintiffs’ request on May 11, 2018. The dismissal order can be read here.]
Two plaintiffs have put their names on a proposed class action case against The Hendrick Automotive Group over the South Carolina-headquartered car dealership’s alleged practice of placing unsolicited telemarketing calls to consumers.
“In order to reach more customers, [the defendant] used an invasive and illegal method of advertising: unsolicited telemarketing via a pre-recorded message and/or automatic dialer known as ‘robocalling,’” the lawsuit alleges.
Each plaintiff claims they received calls from Hendrick Automotive Group sometime between August and November 2016.
