Tennant Company Failed to Pay Service Techs Proper Wages, Lawsuit Claims
Watson v. Tennant Company
Filed: September 7, 2018 ◆§ 1:18-at-00660
A former service technician claims Tennant Company failed to pay proper wages and provide meal and rest breaks.
Tennant Company is staring down a lawsuit filed in California by a former service technician who claims the industrial cleaning products seller and servicer failed to pay proper wages and provide meal and rest breaks.
The suit, which has recently been removed to federal court, says the plaintiff and similarly situated workers were tasked by the defendant with servicing and repairing cleaning equipment. The plaintiff alleges that, during his time with Tennant Company, he was never relieved of all duties so as to take a meal or rest break, nor was he paid any premium compensation for never being provided legally mandatory meal and break periods.
The defendant’s alleged failure to pay premium wages to service techs who worked more than eight hours in a day without a proper meal or rest break is to blame for the workers’ unpaid minimum and overtime wages, according to the lawsuit.
