Tax Defense Partners is the defendant in a proposed class action that claims the company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) when it ignored provisions in the National Do-Not-Call Registry and contacted consumers’ cell phones. The California man who filed the 13-page lawsuit claims the defendant used an automatic telephone dialing system to contact him to solicit the company’s services without prior express consent. The plaintiff says the phone number at which he was reached by the defendant has been in the National Do-Not-Call Registry since 2004.
