Filed: May 24, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-03156
Professional Claims Bureau, Inc. is the defendant in a proposed class action lawsuit that claims the debt collector failed to clearly identify consumers' creditors.
Professional Claims Bureau, Inc. is the defendant in a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a New York woman who claims the debt collector failed to clearly identify her creditor. The plaintiff says she received a letter from Professional Claims Bureau that named “Maimonides Medical Center,” but neglected to identify this entity as the current creditor, original creditor, or creditor to whom the debt is owed. The suit argues that the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) requires debt collectors to clearly identify consumers’ creditors and that the defendant’s letter failed to comply with this requirement.
