Georgia
Hooters of America, LLC is the defendant in a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a woman who claims the business prints too much customer information on receipts. According to the case, the defendant’s receipts display the first six and last four digits of customers’ credit and debit card numbers in violation of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA), which allows for no more than four digits to be printed. As a result of the defendant’s supposed negligence, the suit alleges, Hooters customers were exposed to a greater risk of identity theft.
