Discover Bank is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit that claims it illegally included consumers’ credit scores in public bankruptcy filings. The plaintiffs allege that they filed for bankruptcy after being unable to repay their Discover credit card balances. According to the suit, the United States Bankruptcy Court warned the defendant that personal information such as credit scores must be redacted before filing certain forms in court. The complaint alleges, however, that Discover ignored these warnings and filed proof of claims forms that contained consumers’ private credit scores, thereby violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
